The area was originally a 5,000-acre working ranch established in the 1930s by oilman Ralph E. Fair, Sr., used for racehorses and later a Hereford cattle operation with an advanced artificial insemination program.
In the 1970s, Fair’s family began developing the land into a residential community, with the city being officially incorporated in 1988.
